Fined for violation of the Border Control Act

In August 2025, an air transport company landed a chartered aircraft at Svalbard Airport without having submitted the required advance notification with a complete passenger list.
During border control carried out by the Governor of Svalbard, it was discovered that two passengers had not been pre‑notified within the applicable deadlines. Regulations require that all passengers must be reported no later than 48 hours and no later than two working days before landing in Svalbard.
The incident has been assessed as a violation of the Border Control Act, cf. the Regulation on the Control of Travelers to and from Svalbard. The company has been issued a fine of NOK 60,000. The fine has been accepted.
